Taxonomic note
HTS of the lectotype of Ulva lacinulata (Kützing) Wittrock ... yielded a complete plastid genome. Since U. lacinulata is the oldest validly published name, it is the correct one to apply to the globally [excluding European] distributed species that was previously but incorrectly known as Ulva rigida (Hughey et al. 2021). - (09 June 2022) - G.M.
