Nomenclatural note
Treated as a new name; the supposed basionym Biddulphia granulata Roper is illegitimate as Roper (1859: 13) included Denticella turgida Eherenberg, 1840 in synonymy [INA] as the authors should have adopted this valid name. It is not relevant that Denticella turgida may have been included in taxonomic error. Cerataulus granulatus P.A.Sims & D.M.Williams is here treated as a new name as it explicityly excluded Ehrenberg's materisl. - (07 January 2019) - Salvador Valenzuela Miranda
