The type species (lectotype) of the genus Acrochaetium is Acrochaetium secundatum (Lyngbye) Nägeli.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Colaconema codicola (Børgesen) Stegenga, J.J.Bolton & R.J.Anderson.
