Distributional note
This entity has been introduced accidentally, probably via oyster cultivation, into the Mediterranean (Verlaque et al. 2015: 163) being first found in the Etang de Thau (France) in 1994 (Verlaque & Latula 1996). To date (2015), it does not appear to have spread. - (05 November 2015) - M.D. Guiry
