Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Zonaria is Zonaria flava C.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Padina antillarum (Kützing) Piccone.
Type Information
Type locality: Trinidad; (Wynne 1998) Notes: The type locality was not specified by Kützing, but Wynne (1998) reported that "Trinidad" was incribed on the original specimen.

Adjective A (Latin), of or pertaining to the Antilles.
