Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), slashed into narrow divisions with tapering, pointed incisions (Stearn 1983).
General Environment
This is a marine species.
Habitat
A sublittoral species, found mainly on rough-water coasts; slender plants have been collected from between 30 and 50 m deep, broader forms from much shallower depths (Womersley 1994: 246, 247).
