The type species (holotype) of the genus Pleonosporium is Pleonosporium borreri (Smith) Nägeli.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Tiffaniella saccorhiza (Setchell & N.L.Gardner) Doty & Meñez.
