Type locality: Marine Laboratory, Sagami Province (Kanagawa Prefecture), Japan; (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 178) Lectotype: Y.Yendo; 1899; no habitat data on type; TRH; A21-1318 (Yendo coll. no. 408) (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 176, 178) Notes: Isolectotype: HAK M-179, a fragment of Yendo specimen no. 408 (Kato et al., 2022: figs 6-10). Type locality: Misaki, Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan (Kato et al., 2022: 5).
Eponomy
Named for Kintaro Okamura (1867-1935), Japanese phycologist.
