General Environment
This is a marine species.

Habitat
Has been found as an epiphyte on the brown alga Xiphophora chondrophylla and on the geniculate coralline algae Corallina and Jania in intertidal pools and subtidally at depths of 0.5-2 m, in southern Australia; reported from the intertidal to depths of 85 m, in the Hawaiian Islands; also occurs on coral rubble and on a variety of other substrata (Womersley 1996: 255).
