This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Leptophytum tenue (Kjellman) Athanasiadis & W.H.Adey.

Kjellman; 22-26 July 1879; On a broken Mytilus L. shell, in the upper sublittoral region; TRH; B2-1737 (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 74) Notes: Lectotype designated by Athanasiadis & Adey [Mikael Foslie's label reads: 'Lith. Monogr. pl.3, fig.3. L. tenue (Kjellm.) Vega -Exp: sp. konc. foto n? 24 A Arkt. america: Port Clarence 1879. leg. F.R. Kjellmann']. Isolectotypes in TRH. Syntypes in UPS. Woelkering et al. (2005: 245) note that the material of B2-1737 was on loan when their catalogue was being prepared.
