Type locality: Shark Bay, Western Australia; (Robertson 1984: 72) Neotype: FLAS; 137470 (Robledo, Freile-Pelegrin & Sanchez-Rodriguez 2003: 72) Notes: Robertson (1984: 72) notes the type was collected from Shark Bay, Western Australia by J. S. Davis, on 5 September 1970 and is apparently lost.

Habitat note
In ephemeral, or at the margins of permanent, saline water bodies such as lakes, inlets, estuaries and tidal lagoons in water from 10 cm to 1 m deep, and also in the mid to lower eulittoral on tidal flats in sheltered bays where it grows in association with Lepilaena marina and Zostera mucronata (Robertson 1984). - (24 June 2010) - G.M.
