Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Antithamnion is Antithamnion cruciatum (C.Agardh) Nägeli.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Antithamnionella sublittoralis (Setchell & N.L.Gardner) Athanasiadis.
