This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Melobesia accola (Foslie) Me.Lemoine.

Type locality: Hao, Tuamotu Archipelago, French Polynesia; (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 137) Holotype: Seurat (P. Hariot nr. 20); 20.xii.1904; TRH; A16-988 (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 137) Notes: "Data on TRH specimen box mistakenly lists ‘Hao’ as being in Tahiti and does not include collector or collection date. Entry in Adey & Lebednik 1967: 36 reads 'Hariot, Tahiti, Hao, no. 20, Mus. Paris, 4.1907']" (Woelkering et al. 2005: 137).
