The type species (holotype) of the genus Chlorosarcinopsis is Chlorosarcinopsis minor (Gerneck) Herndon.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Desmochloris halophila (Guillard, H.C.Bold & McEntee) Watanabe, Kuroda & Maiwa.
