The type species (holotype) of the genus Fauchea is Fauchea repens (C.Agardh) Montagne & Bory.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gloiocladia sefferi (M.Howe) J.N.Norris.

La Paz, Baja California, Mexico; (Howe 1911: 506)Vives 11e; Notes: Dawson (1944:304) notes that this is another species from Vives' collections at La Paz, corresponding with Kylin's interpretation of the genus Fauchea (1931:8).
