Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Rhodymenia is Rhodymenia palmetta (Stackhouse) Greville.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Leptosomia rosea (Harvey) Womersley.

Type locality: Fremantle, Western Australia; (Harvey 1855: 554) Lectotype: Clifton; Herb. Harvey, TCD; Trav. Set 347 (Womersley 1996: 105) Notes: Lectotype designated by Womersley (1996: 105). A second specimen in TCD placed (by Harvey?) under Halymenia cliftonii.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), rose-coloured (Stearn 1983).
