Nomenclatural note
Toepel et al. (2005) cite the authority as "Hasle"; and Thamatrakon et al. (2006: 824) cite the authority as "(Hustedt) Hasle & Heimdal". The name was proposed as a replacement name by Hasle & Heimdal for Cyclotella nana Hustedt (priority for Thalssiosira nana Lohman 1908) and the correct authority citation is thus Thalassiosira pseudonana Hasle & Heimdal. - (19 October 2006) - G.M.
