Type locality: Sweden, France, or Germany; (INA 1996) Lectotype fide J.R. Laundon, Taxon 34: 672. 1985: BM; Acharius 890 (INA 1996) Notes: "Type [unlocalised], on conifer bark with the fungus Hysterium (BM-Ach 890 left-hand specimen! lectotype, selected here; H.Ach. 2006, Persoon 97 from 'Gallia' [France], probably isotype" (Laundon, 1985: 672).
