Type locality: Millport in Clyde Estuary; (INA 1996) Notes: Type culture: Cambridge no 8/6 collected by Dr. Chu (INA).
Eponomy
Named for the collector, Dr S.P. Chu, of the type culture in CCAP [originally as Carteria Chui Pringsheim, ined.] and for whom Chu's Medium is named.
