Eponomy
Named for Édmond Placide Duchassaing de Fontbressin (1818-1873), born in Guadeloupe of French origin, who collected invertebrates, seaweeds and plants, and studied the geology of Guadeloupe, Panama and St Thomas in the Caribbean
