Nomenclatural note
This was an alternative name for Protococcus salinus Dunal 1837, it was separately described but believed by Dunal to be old Protococcus salinus. It could be regarded as illegitimate since it was superfluous at the time of description. - (17 September 2007) - G.M. Guiry
