Van den Hoek (1963: 147) records "Cladophora conglomerata Kiitzing, 1853, p. 26, t. 92, fig. 2. Type material from Belt (leg. Frolich) untraceable. Material in L, 937/281/2 from Helgoland is an acropetally organized attached plant of Cl. vagabnnda (t. 26, n. 21, fig. 477, 478); leg.
