Taxonomic note
This was considered to be a synonym of Chlorochytrium bristolae (G.M. Smith) D.M. John & Tsarenko (John & Tsarenko, 2002) but according to Wujek & Thompson (2005), the inclusion of Scotinosphaera and Kentrosphaera within the genus Chlorochytrium is considered untenable. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
