West; 27 January 1977; type from culture (MDG no. 62) isolated from vegetative fragments collected in the intertidal; GALW; 000154 (Brodie & Guiry 1988: 112) Notes: Type is female plant (Fig. 1 of original publication) dried on a single herbarium sheet with isotype male and tetrasporangial plants (figs 2, 3), all in GALW.
