Nomenclatural note
This name has occasionally been attributed to J.Agardh (1863: pl. 3: figs. 93-94). According to INA, "in the text the author has Ulvaria as a section of Monostroma". Since Ulvaria was not recognised as a genus, the combination is invalid (Art. 36, Shenzhen Code). - (13 April 2024) - M.D. Guiry
