Adjective (Latin), of or on corallines (Stearn 1983).

General Environment
This is a marine species.

Habitat
Found on rock, snails, limpets, abalone shells and sea urchins in intertidal pools, on reef edges and subtidally to depths of 9 m (Womersley 1996: 233). Grows mainly on Corallina officinalis and is common in rock pools from mid tide level downwards; also grows on Laminaria digitata, Cystoseira baccata, Pterocladia capillacea, Furcellaria lumbricalis (sometimes on Melobesia membranacea), Chondrus crispus, Palmaria palmata, Laurencia pinnatifida and Polysiphonia nigrescens (Chamberlain 1991: 69).
