Distributional note
This species was introduced accidentally, probably via oysters from Japan, into the Mediterranean (Verlaque et al. 2015: 287), being first found in the Etang de Thau (France) in 1985. It has also been reported from the N Adriatic. - (06 November 2015) - M.D. Guiry
