The type species (lectotype) of the genus Choreocolax is Choreocolax polysiphoniae Reinsch.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Gelidiocolax margaritoides (M.T.Martin & Pocock) K.-C.Fan & Papenfuss.
