Habitat note
Common at sites with cool, humid conditions, particularly in forests. It is mostly a corticolous species formingorange patches on the bark of deciduous trees (Acer, Alnus, Castanea, Fagus, Fraxinus, Quercus, Prunus, Tilia, Ulmus) and conifers (Abies, Picea).
