Taxonomic note
Huisman (2018: 366) remarked: 'Several authors have questioned the generic placement of C. minutissima, based on the inclusion in Yamada's description of "branchlets ... four in number in every whorl". However, Itono and Abbott re-examined the species (the latter with authentic material) and observed only 3 whorl branches per axial cell, thus confirming its placement in Crouania. Crouania minutissima is similar to C. attenuata, a species reported from the Great Barrier Reef by Price & Scott (1982: 117), but the latter is larger and has more congested whorl branches."' - (27 September 2018) - M.D. Guiry
