Type locality: King George Sound, Western Australia; (Silva & al. 1996: 412) Lectotype: Harvey; TCD; Harvey, Trav. set no. 41 (Womersley 1998: 332) Notes: Dawson (1962: 72) notes that the type specimen was epiphytic on Zostera.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), oval, elliptical, i.e., broadest at the middle, the sides curved and length:breadth generally 2:1 (Stearn 1983).
