Distributional note
Probably introduced into the Mediterranean (Algeria and Spain) from the east coast of Australia (Athanasiadis, 1996: 143) probably by shipping (Verlaque et al. 2015: 121). Now widespread in the western Mediterranean (Verlaque et al. 2015: 121). - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
