This is a marine species.
Type locality: Boat harbour, Lord Howe Island (Kraft 2000: 534). Holotype: G.T. Kraft & R.W. Ricker; 8 Dec. 1978; on algal calcarenite and epiphytic on Liagora howensis. MELU A39554 (Kraft 2000: 534).
