Taxonomic note
According to McManus & Lewis (2011: 160), additional P. biradiatum isolates are required to test the taxonomic validity of this genus. The two stains they investigated are closely allied with the genus Sorastrum but are not monophyletic. - (12 April 2011) - G.M. Guiry
