Distributional note
This species was apparently introduced into the Mediterranean (Verlaque et al. 2015: 255) via the Suez Canal, which opened in 1869, being first confirmed from Israel in 1929. It is now found on the Levantine coast, Turkey, and Egypt. - (06 November 2015) - M.D. Guiry
