Type Information
Lectotype locality: Land's End, San Francisco, California; (Lindstrom & Cole 1992: 435) Lectotype: H.T.A. Huss; 8 February 1899; UC; MO 24356 (Sutherland et al. 2011: 1144) Notes: Lindstrom & Cole (1992: 433, 435) note that Krishnamurthy (1972) lectotypified Porphyra perforata f. lanceolata, the basionym of Porphyra lanceolata, with UC 95720 (collected by Setchell in Carmel Bay, California on 11.i.1899) but that it does not accord with Smith's description and with the major portion of Setchell & Hus's description. They choose instead MO 24356 in UC as lectotype.
