Agardh)" [on the rocks below the sea at the coast; Atlantic Mexico; North America; Guadeloupe, West Indies; Hawaiian Islands; Marquesas Islands; Australia]; (Agardh 1863: 980) Notes: Lectotypification required from material at LD (Huisman 2018: 542).

Adjective (Latin), resembling the giant fennel (genus Ferula) (Neal 1993).
