Nomenclatural note
"This species has been introduced into the Mediterranean (Verlaque & al. 2015: 153), probably via oyster cultivation, being first found in the Etang de Thau (France) in 1984; it has also been reported from Atlantic Spain (Peña & Bárbara 2006). "This species, accidentally introduced into the Étange de Thau (France) (Verlaque, 2002, figs 2-29; Verlaque et al., 2015: 152, figs a-h), in the Mediterranean Sea it remained confined in that coastal basin (Cormaci et al., 2004: 163; Peña-Martín., 2011: 215)."
