This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Austrokallymenia cribrogloea (Womersley & R.E.Norris) Huisman & G.W.Saunders.

[Tasmania]; (Womersley & Norris 1971: 8) Holotype: [S.] Shepherd; 7 February 1970; 30 m deep; AD; A35158 (Womersley & Norris 1971: 8) Notes: Womersley (1994: 235) notes that there are isotypes distributed in "Marine Algae of southern Australia" No. 82. At 30 m depth ( Womersley & Norris 1971: 8).
