Habitat note
A widespread species in moist terrestrial habitats, sometimes frequent among wetter Sphagnum communities and among submerged macrophytes in shallow lakes and pools of a wide pH, hardness and nutrient range, though most frequent in oligotrophic or mesotrophic, slightly humic waters, and apparently absent from eutrophic waters; also in brackish ponds and saltmarshes (Whitton in John et al. 2002). - (04 July 2012) - G.M.
