General Environment
This is a marine species.
Habitat
Thalli grow on rock from 0.5 to 10 m deep in areas usually subject to heavy surge (Kraft 1977: 247). More commonly found on West Australian coasts but occurs, in moderately deep water, as far east as Western Port, Victoria (Kraft & Womersley 1994: 330).
