Silva & al (1996: 335) note "When transferring Kallymenia papulosa to his new genus Meristotheca, I. Agardh (1872: 37; 1876: 584) erroneously included in this species Halymenia ceylanica Harvey ex Klitzing, treated as a taxonomic synonym of H. microcarpa (Montagne) P.
