Distributional note
Ribera et al. (1992) reported S. divaricata (C. Agardh) Kylin from Turkey and the Thau Lagoon (France). However, because the record from Turkey [fide Athanasiadis (1987: 114)] is doubtful and that from the Thau Lagoon, following the study by Kim et al. (2003), should be referred to as S. firma, S. divaricata should be excluded from the Mediterranean flora. - (27 August 2015) - M.D. Guiry
