Habitat note
Epiphytic on various algae such as Furcellaria lumbricalis, Cladophora spp., stipes of Laminaria hyperborea, maerl and crustose red algae, also growing on pebbles, bedrock and dead shells, in lower-shore pools and from extreme low water to 25 m, found over a wide range of environmenta conditions, particularly abundant at sites with moderate to strong current exposure but fairly sheltered from wave action (Maggs & Hommersand, 1993). On sand -covered rocks; usually epiphytic; low to mid intertidal in sites from sheltered to extremely wave-exposed (Diaz-Tapia & Bárbara, 2014). - (25 June 2014) - G.M. Guiry
