General Environment
This is a freshwatermarinebrackish species.
Habitat
Scattered in moist terrestrial areas, particularly lower parts of walls with calcareous components, brickwork in shaded areas or intermittently submerged banks of nutrient-rich rivers (West & Fritsch, 1927; Sheath & Sherwood, 2002). Also saltmarshes and soils of sea-cliffs. Womersley (1994: 23) notes that this is probably widespread in terrestrial, brackish, and (less so) marine situations.
